MCT Electrical Services install and maintain fire alarms for domestic and commercial clients. Changes to health and safety requirements means that the correct fire alarm/detection system has become a must for all businesses. No matter how small or large your business you will be inspected to ensure you meet fire safety regulations.
We can offer a variety of fire alarms systems to meet your needs. Below are just a few examples:
- Conventional fire alarm systems
- Twin wire fire alarm system
- Wireless fire alarm systems
Conventional system – This is the most popular and complies with BS:5839. These systems include smoke and heat detectors which are wired separately from the sounder circuits. They are the cheapest of the systems and tend to be easiest to fit but most importantly they meet with British Standards. Maintenance costs tend to be slightly lower for this type of system. Should a fire break out these alarms will detect fires in specific sections of your building. The circuits can be controlled from a central control panel. Sounders are prompted in appropriate locations which sounds the alarm.
Twin Fire Alarm systems – These are similar to a conventional system due to them having detection zones. The difference is that sounders can be added to the detection circuit which can save cost as there is no need to wire additional circuits. As each call point or smoke alarm is connected to the main fire alarm control panel when a detector is triggered the fire alarm control panel will operate so the building can be evacuated. The alarm will only be sounded in the zone where the fire has been detected. If the fire continues the alarm will sound in the whole building. If a fire isn’t detected the system will automatically reset.
Wireless fire alarm systems – These are an alternative safety option should it not be practical to use cables. This means signals are transmitted across a radio frequency instead of through wires. The advantage of these systems is that they are easy to maintain and update. They can be disconnected and relocated without any problems as there are no wires to move. Our wireless fire alarm systems comply with EN54-25 testing and performance requirements and frequencies can cover a range of up to 1.5km and therefore ideal for properties of all sizes.
