Planned Preventative Maintenance

Maintenance Planned around your Business Needs

MCT Electrical Services offer a Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) for all businesses. What is a PPM? This is a maintenance method which aims at predicting when an asset failure may occur and prevents this failure by performing the right maintenance which is either time-based or condition monitored.

This helps improve the safety and performance of equipment as well as increasing the life of equipment and therefore avoiding unnecessary costs. A PPM avoids equipment failure by restoring and saving components before they fail. The benefit of a PPM means fewer repairs, reduction in equipment downtime and increases the life of equipment improving safety and quality.

Condition monitored – This aims to predict when an asset failure may occur and prevention of that failure can be performed by implementing the correct maintenance. This applies to assets that can communicate their actual status in real-time to your maintenance system.  This monitoring minimises maintenance costs and prevents asset failure and reactive maintenance issues.

Time-based preventative maintenance – This is based on activities that generate a calendar schedule. These can be based on supplier instructions, warranties or legislation. For example this could be a yearly inspection of a type of heating instillation or other unit or trigger servicing of a piece of equipment. Prevention is better than cure and planning for any maintenance issue can keep costs down as equipment can be shut down outside of working hours to minimise impact on your customers which in turn means that business can continue with little or no impact on productivity. Added to this is the importance of knowing you are meeting any legal requirements and meeting any sustainability goals.
