Power Showers – these include a pump to increase the flow rate and this can be part of the shower unit or located separately. They take water from the hot and cold storage tanks and mix these to reach the desired temperature. These types of showers are more powerful as an internal pump boosts the water flow
Mixer Showers – this sources hot and cold water from the main household supply enabling you to mix them to the required temperature. This need available hot water and may need an additional pump in the case of low water pressure. Temperature control is via a thermostatic valve. These types of showers are ideal if you have a combination boiler. Thermostatic mixer showers are now available which enables you to control the temperature more accurately. The hot water stops flowing if the cold water supply fails making it an added safety feature for all the family.
Digital Shower (Mixer) – A wireless connection is used so the mixing unit and user controls can be sited separately. The mixing unit is available as a pumped shower version for boosting gravity or a mixed valve unit for use with combi systems.
