What is Pat Testing (PAT)?
All businesses should ensure their electrical appliances are PAT tested before use. The Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 require that any electrical equipment that has the potential to cause injury is maintained in a safe condition. Businesses usually have items PAT tested each year but this would depend on the type of equipment and how often it is used. For more information click here
At MCT Electrical Services we understand how important electrical safety is and PAT testing is a way of checking your portable electrical appliances are safe for your business and your employees. We offer a competent and certified PAT testing service and have experience in carrying out portable testing for all types and sizes of organisations. Should we find any minor faults we can repair the appliance or recommend the next course of action. We are able to perform tests on a variety of appliances by testing lead polarity, earth continuity and insulation resistance. The tests are not time consuming but ensure that your equipment/appliances are safe to use. Once tested each appliance will be labelled with a safety sticker and you will be provided with the relevant documentation to prove that you are legally compliant. Failed items are clearly marked and identified. A record is kept so we can ensure that appliances are checked either every 6 months to a year dependant on the type of appliance.
